Two New Wines to Try This Weekend!

New Wine Weekend..

“Tineta” Tinto Fino

Ribera del Duero – Burgos, Spain

91 Points – Robert Parker

90 Points – Stephen Tanzer

A beautiful 100% Tinto Fino (the local name for Tempranillo) from the celebrated Ribera del Duero region. The nose is peppery and full of ripe blueberry and dried cherry aromas. Fresh, lively, and spicy at first, this wine gives way to a richer, more mature smoothness provided by 7-month aging in three-year old oak barrels. This is a perfect match for some serrano ham and Manchego.

Makara Sauvignon Blanc

Marlborough, New Zealand

This wine offers extraordinary quality at an exceptional value. It is sourced from two valleys within the Marlborough wine region, which is renowned the world over for its outstanding flavor characteristics. The basic flavor characteristics are of passion fruit, flint, gooseberry, capsicum, grapefruit and tropical fruits are what make the Wairau Valley Sauvignon Blanc unique and celebrated. To insure the wine is beautifully balanced, 30% of fruit is sourced from the Awatere Valley with characteristics resembling the famous wines of Sancerre in style contributing a crispness, and minerality.
